Tirnant

Tirnant Front Garden

About

Set in its own large mature gardens, Tirnant is a newly renovated property in the heart of Trearddur Bay. Its an ideal and secluded base from which friends and families can explore Anglesey’s rugged and beautiful coastline.

The long drive sets the house away from the road and is flanked by a thickly lawned and gated garden, hedged on either side by mature shrubs.  There’s plenty of room for cars to park and crabbing lines and prawning nets to be loaded and families to climb aboard.

The house itself comprises two large, ground floor bedrooms (1 x double and 1 x twin) and a ground floor family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. There is a spacious and comfortable lounge with internet-enabled flat screen TV, plenty of games and ample seating set around an open fireplace. The house is served by superfast fibre broadband so there is plenty of bandwidth to go around.

The open kitchen and dining space is a lovely, sociable area. The well-equipped kitchen has pots and pans enough to knock up anything from a simple snack to a family feast and comes with a modern gas hob and oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. Next door, there’s a handy utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.

The kitchen is adjoined by a light family dining room from which patio doors lead onto a paved and sheltered seating area and an extensive green, well-kept and secure garden ideal for children and dogs to play in.

Upstairs is a cosy double bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in shower and w/c.
Tirnant is a perfect walking distance from Trearddur’s beautiful blue flag beach and promenade and the nearby excellent restaurants and pubs. Its private setting makes it an ideal hideaway for a long lazy weekend or a full-on holiday for all the family. Have a look at the gallery below, it's a lovely place to stay.

Local Information

White Arches

Tirnant really is the ideal holiday cottage from which to explore Trearddur Bay and the rest of Anglesey.  The quiet road opposite the house (the Rise) leads directly to a path down to the beach where the promenade curves the length of the bay. It’s ideal for a stretch of the legs and a chance to blow the cobwebs away.  On the way back its worth taking a detour to the Sea Shanty to sample the extensive delights of their ice cream parlour.
It’s worth a return trip in the evening as the interior is an Aladdin’s cave of decoration and intrigue and the food is reliably delicious.  Further afield the White Eagle in Rhoscolyn is a treat.  It has a great menu and the beach at Rhoscolyn is lovely.  The walk West from here along the coast path, past St Gwenfaen’s Holy Well, to the white and black sea arches of Bwa Gwyn and Bwa Du is one of the best in Anglesey.
To the North from here you can spy South Stack lighthouse, which is always worth a visit especially with children.  The drive to the lighthouse along the coast road past the Haunted House and the craggy coves of Porth-y-post and Porth Dafarch is a real pleasure in itself.  South Stack lies at the bottom of 400 winding steps and across a dramatic narrow bridge. Once there you can tour the former lighthouse engine room before climbing to the top of the lighthouse. It’s a magical place, all the more so as you are accompanied by the cries and screeches of thousands of breeding guillemots, razorbills and puffins.
Further afield there’s the beautiful wide beaches at Aberffraw and the nearby St Cwyfan’s, the church in the sea. There’s the historic splendour of Beaumaris, the haunted stranded ships abandoned on Dulas sands and the magic of Newborough Warren, where forest gives way to dunes and then a broad, shimmering beach patrolled by oystercatchers.
Tirnant really is a great place to make your own for a week or so and to start your own explorations of this beautiful island.
